Two well known metaphysical education facilitators that are focused on distance learning offerings are Reiki Rays Institute and The University of Metaphysical Sciences. Both schools offer different courses and subject emphasis as well as educational structuring for the local and global student.
Reiki Rays Institute
Reiki Rays Institute was first established in 2000 by founder Dawn Rothwell and is fully accredited by the International Natural Healers Association. Reiki Rays Institute focuses on holistic studies, meaning they emphasize treating the mind, body and spirit and their courses reflect this vision by giving the student a well-rounded educational experience.
They offer individual courses such as Usui Reiki, Crystal and Gemstone Therapy, Flower Essences and Meditation. Reiki Rays also offers certification programs in Herbal Wellness, Holistic Health Practitioner, Holistic Pet Care, Light Work and Spiritual Counseling.
For certain courses, Reiki Rays Institute provides customized payment plans enabling students with limited financial means to further their metaphysical/holistic education affordably. Each plan is determined on a confidential case by case basis, but course completion certificates will not be issued until the tuition balance has been paid in full.
Reiki Rays Institute also has two sister affiliations, the Midwest University of Holistic Health and the Midwest Institute of Metaphysical Theology. The University of Metaphysical Sciences
Founder Christine Breese first started teaching metaphysical classes in 1990. The University of Metaphysical Sciences is accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and the American Association of Medical Alternatives and functions as a non-profit organization with a mission to help students discover their true self and calling.
UMS offers Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate degree programs primarily focused on metaphysics. The required curriculum is the same for all degree programs, with student chosen electives rounding out the course offering. Courses offered with these degree programs include Astrology Basics, Lucid Dreaming, Feng Shui and Emotional Art.
The University of Metaphysical Sciences offers several payment plan options, financed at a low interest rate. Tuition varies depending on whether the student chooses to receive their course materials via postal mail or internet download. It is important to note that the tuition price includes all three programs (Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate).
